What to Expect

Bonjour/Hello, I’m a trauma-certified clinician and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ontario, as well as a mental health counsellor in Québec, offering virtual therapy for adults seeking meaningful and lasting change. I have extensive experience supporting individuals navigating trauma responses, anxiety and mood concerns, life transitions, identity exploration, and relational challenges.

My approach is integrative, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs and pace. I blend evidence-based therapies with creative, intuitive, and solution-focused interventions to help you deepen self-understanding, access your inner wisdom, and strengthen your natural resilience. You can expect practical tools, between-session guidance, somatic approaches, and psychoeducation that support healing, empowerment, and sustainable growth.

Sessions are grounded in a warm, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment informed by person-centered, attachment-based, trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and culturally responsive principles. While the healing process can be challenging, it also creates opportunities to shift longstanding patterns, cultivate greater self-compassion, and build a life that feels more grounded, intentional, and aligned with your values.

The therapeutic process is personalized to your unique needs. I take the time to understand your history, your current challenges, and the biological, psychological, and social factors that shape your well-being. Together, we create meaningful goals that support the changes you want to see.

When emotional distress begins to interfere with how you feel, function, or connect with others, therapy offers a supportive space to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. We’ll clarify what wellness looks like for you and build practical skills that empower you to move forward with confidence.

Counseling can also help you reconnect with your sense of direction and identity, especially during moments in life that feel overwhelming or uncertain. Through a collaborative and grounded approach, we’ll uncover what’s holding you back and work toward a life that feels more aligned, purposeful, and satisfying.

While I specialize in trauma, I support clients with a wide range of concerns and welcome anyone seeking clarity, growth, or meaningful change.

Couples sessions are designed to help you and your partner strengthen connection, communication, and emotional understanding. I draw from emotion-focused, systems-based, attachment-based approaches, as well as principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), to support you in building a healthier and more fulfilling relationship.

Whether you’re navigating trust concerns, boundaries, codependency, betrayal, or simply feeling disconnected, our work will focus on deepening compassion—for yourself and for your partner. Together, we’ll practice communication skills that help you better understand each other’s experiences and foster a more supportive, aligned partnership.

For couples experiencing heightened conflict, sessions will be thoughtfully structured and intentionally paced to ensure emotional safety and clarity for both partners.

I welcome LGBTQIA+ couples, polyamorous partnerships, and relationships navigating multicultural or intercultural dynamics.

I am currently facilitating an anxiety support group. Please reach out here to learn more.

Starting Sessions

I make every effort to support you in feeling welcome and safe during our counseling sessions.

There will be minimal note-taking and you are welcome to ask any questions regarding the therapy process, and I will sporadically check in on your experience and needs.

During follow-up counseling sessions, we will collaboratively establish goals and choose the best modality for our work together.

I do not prescribe medication. However, if you are interested in psychopharmacology, I can refer you to a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner, or we can explore options with your primary care physician.

Sessions are 53 min, and on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis, depending on treatment progress. On occasion, I offer phone sessions if you have technical or accessibility difficulties, but not for long-term sessions.

Before We Begin

The fee for individual or couples counselling/psychotherapy is determined and agreed upon at the time of the intake meeting (including any arranged sliding scale rates). Sessions are 50 minutes in length; the remaining 10 minutes of the hour are spent on file management and other clinical tasks that are required as part of your care. Sessions are 40 minutes for sliding scale clients. It is my policy to collect payment at the beginning of each session and to provide you with a receipt for services rendered at the end of the session. Overdue payments could be sent to a collection agency for remittance.
  • My current rate may change with reasonable notice to clients.
  • I keep a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients.
  • Fees are payable prior to each session.
  • I do not bill insurance directly, but possible reimbursement is attainable with your receipt.
  • If you are unable to continue paying for therapy, I will work with you to explore available options.

Please get in touch if you’d like to work together.

I allow (1) no-show or late cancellation without a fee, then cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours notice will incur the full session fee.

Sessions are closed 10 minutes after the session begins unless the client offers notification. I like to encourage timeliness as the quality of the session often requires the full allotted time.

My goal is to provide quality care to all clients. I understand that life happens, but no-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only the provider but other clients as well.
